Apple's iOS 26 Beta Arrives June 9, Introducing New Features and Redesigned Interface

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Apple is reportedly set to release the first beta version of iOS 26 on Monday, June 9, 2025, coinciding with the opening day of the annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).

This update will bring several new features, including improvements to Apple Intelligence and a potential redesign of the interface.

As in past years, Apple is expected to open beta access on the same day as the main WWDC presentation. This beta will be available only to users registered in Apple’s developer program. Meanwhile, general users will need to wait, with the public beta likely coming at the end of June or early July.

Although the update will be officially announced, the 9to5mac website notes that not all iOS 26 features will be present in the first beta. Apple typically rolls out some features gradually through later beta updates or official releases like iOS 26.1 and 26.2.

Apple also warns that the beta version may still have bugs and performance issues. It is recommended to install it only on secondary devices or those dedicated to testing. Alongside iOS 26, Apple will also reveal other system updates such as iPadOS 26 and macOS 26 during this year’s WWDC.

The name iOS 26 marks a change in Apple’s operating system naming scheme, which now follows a year-based format. Instead of incrementally increasing version numbers, the version number will reflect the year after the launch year. For example, the next iOS update, previously expected to be iOS 19, is now called iOS 26.
