TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo and Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa met with business representatives from the US-ASEAN Business Council and the US Chamber of Commerce during the IMF-World Bank Spring Meetings 2026 in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, April 15.

Bank Indonesia Communications Department Director Anton Pinoto said the meeting underscored the importance of direct engagement between policymakers and the private sector amid rising global uncertainty.

“Indonesia reaffirmed its resilient economic performance despite multiple crises, while also strengthening confidence among U.S. business players operating in Southeast Asia,” Anton said in a statement on Thursday, April 16.

On the same day, Perry also held talks with Dan Katz, First Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, to discuss geopolitical developments and global economic uncertainties.

They highlighted that risks stem not only from oil price volatility but also from potential spillover effects across global supply chains.

Anton said Perry conveyed three key pillars underpinning Indonesia’s economic resilience in both meetings. These include policy consistency and synergy across monetary and fiscal measures, as well as maintaining financial system credibility; the ability to adapt policy frameworks in response to global dynamics; and strengthening international cooperation, including with the United States and other partners.

“In line with these pillars, Bank Indonesia will continue to enhance international policy coordination and communication with global investors to safeguard external stability and support national economic growth amid heightened global uncertainty,” Anton said.
