Indonesian National Team Seen Carrying Rolex Watches After Lunch with Prabowo

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian football national team players received Rolex watches from President Prabowo Subianto. The Head of State invited officials and players of the Indonesian national team to his house on 4 Kertanegara Street, South Jakarta, for lunch on Friday, June 6, 2025.

This lunch invitation was a day after the national team defeated China 1-0, coinciding with the Eid al-Adha 1446 Hijriah. After spending about 90 minutes at Prabowo's private residence, national team players were seen leaving with a black paper bag or tote bearing the words 'The Time Place,' a luxury multi-brand watch boutique in Indonesia.

When asked about the gifts possibly being from Prabowo, the chairperson of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI), Erick Thohir responded, "It seems that way. I'm not sure."

One of the Indonesian national team players, Justin Hubner, uploaded a video on his Instagram account @justinhubner5. The black bag contained a green box inscribed with Rolex. Inside the box was a silver watch with a black dial.

Prior to this, the Indonesian national team accepted an invitation for lunch with President Prabowo. During the occasion, the Head of State appreciated the national team.

Erick Thohir stated that Prabowo treated the officials and players of the Indonesian national team as family. Therefore, he said, Prabowo invited the Garuda squad for lunch at his house. "Because we know they have sacrificed a lot for the Red and White," said Erick.

Prabowo, said the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, also left a message for the officials and all the players of the Indonesian national team to give their best for the remaining World Cup qualification matches. "Don't relax just because it's already over. That's not a characteristic instilled by the president," he said.
