Sabar/Reza Clinch Spot in Indonesia Open 2025 Final

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Men's doubles pair Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani have secured a spot in the Indonesia Open 2025 final. They achieved this by defeating Malaysian representatives Man Wei Chong / Kai Wun Tee in a challenging three-game match, with scores of 21-18, 12-21, and 21-18.

The first game was tightly contested, with scores going back and forth, never more than two points apart. However, after being tied at 14-14, Sabar/Reza managed to extend their lead to 17-14. The score briefly leveled at 18-18 before the Indonesian pair secured the game by scoring three consecutive points.

Sabar/Reza started the crucial third game by scoring four consecutive points, steadily increasing their lead to 8-1. They maintained this advantage, leading 11-6 at the mid-game interval.

After the break, the Indonesian pair continued to score points, holding a comfortable 17-10 lead. At this point, Man/Kai mounted a comeback, scoring three consecutive points to narrow the gap to 17-13, and later 20-14.

While needing just one more point to win, Sabar/Reza seemed to falter momentarily. Their opponents managed to score four consecutive points before Sabar/Reza finally closed out the game with a 21-18 victory after an hour of intense play.

This triumph propels Sabar/Reza into their first BWF Super 1000 tournament final at the Indonesia Open 2025.

Hendra Setiawan, who retired as a player after his appearance at the Indonesia Masters 2025 in January, was seen on the sidelines, accompanying his players, Sabar/Reza, during the match.

Sabar/Reza's success ensures that the host nation will have at least one representative in the Indonesia Open 2025 final.
