TEMPO.CO, Jakarta The South Korean entertainment industry is mourning the death of actor Lee Sang Bo, who reportedly passed away at the age of 45.

According to The Chosun Daily, cited Antara, the news was confirmed on Thursday, March 27, at 12:00 PM local time. The funeral service took place in Room 3 of the Central Funeral Hall in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province.

Lee was found dead on March 26. Police arrived at the scene after receiving a report from his family, and they are currently investigating to determine the exact cause of death. The family has stated that they are still identifying the circumstances and details surrounding the incident.

Lee's agency has confirmed information regarding the funeral and cremation schedule, which further strengthens the news of the actor's death.

Lee Sang Bo was born in 1981 and made his acting debut in 2006 with the KBS2 drama Invisible Man Choi Jang-soo. He later became known for his roles in dramas such as The Queen's Dynasty, Wicked Love, Rugal, and Miss Monte Cristo, as well as in films such as Secretly Greatly and Mepisto.

He returned to acting in January 2024 through the drama Graceful Empire and signed an exclusive contract with Korea Management Group (KMG).

Lee had previously been questioned by the police regarding alleged drug use, but the case was dropped due to a lack of evidence.

At the time, he explained that his use of prescription antidepressants had caused a misunderstanding. His death has left fans and the South Korean entertainment industry mourning his loss.
