Deputy Chairperson of House Commission I, Dave Akbarshah Fikarno Laksono, stated that President Prabowo Subianto has not yet officially communicated his intention to act as a mediator between the United States and Iran. The conflict in the Middle East escalated after Israel, alongside the US, launched an attack on Iran on February 28, 2026.

Indonesia has volunteered to facilitate dialogue among the conflicting parties. Furthermore, if approved by both sides, the President of Indonesia is willing to travel to Tehran for mediation.
