TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The UN agency for Palestine refugees (UNRWA) has urged Israel to immediately allow entry of life-saving aid into Gaza, Anadolu reported. The call came as the agency warned that it has food stockpiled to support the entire population for over three months.
"UNRWA has enough food for the entire population of Gaza for over three months stockpiled in warehouses—including this one in Al Arish, Egypt—awaiting entry," the agency said on social media X, Saturday, July 19, 2025.
Despite being ready with supplies and the logistics system, UNRWA stated that access for the agency is still blocked.
"Open the gates, lift the siege, allow UNRWA to do its work and help people in need among them 1 million children," the UN body directly appealed in its statement.
Almost 59,000 Palestinians in Gaza, most of whom are women and children, have died as a result of Israeli aggression.
The Israeli military has also fully blockaded access to humanitarian aid to Gaza since last March 2, cutting off the supply of food, medicine, and other assistance to more than 2 million Palestinians in the enclave.
Israel only allowed very little humanitarian aid to enter Gaza at the end of May, following significant pressure from the international community.
However, Israel did not grant access to UNRWA for the aid delivery.
The Zionist regime has instead allowed for the controversial Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) to establish aid distribution centers, which has killed nearly 1,000 Palestinians as soldiers frequently fire at aid-seekers.
