Australian Man Shot Dead at Bali Villa, Another Wounded

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Two Australian nationals became victims of a shooting at Villa Casa Santisya 1, Banjar Sedahan, Munggu Village, Mengwi District, Badung Regency, Bali, early Saturday, June 14, 2025.

Zivan Radmanovic, 32 years old, died on the spot, while Sanar Ghanim, 35, sustained severe injuries and is currently in intensive care at BIMC Hospital Kuta.

The Bali Police said the incident occurred at around 00:20 a.m. local time. "Witness GJ, Zivan's wife, heard her husband shouting upon seeing a stranger enter the room," said the head of public relations at Bali Police, Grand Commissioner Ariasandy, in a written statement on Saturday, June 14, 2025.

At the time of the incident, Gourdeas Jazmyn, 29, who is Zivan's wife, said she had peeked from under the blanket and saw a man wearing a bright orange jacket and a black helmet enter the room.

The attacker then shot Zivan, who was in the bathroom. Shortly after, the sound of gunshots was heard coming from the adjacent room. Jazmyn ran out to find a bloody Sanar.

After the attacker fled the scene, Jazmyn checked Zivan's pulse but felt nothing. She then helped Sanar and tried to stop the bleeding.

In addition to Jazmyn, another witness named Daniela also claimed to have seen an unknown man attempting to enter her room. The other attacker was wearing a green jacket, helmet, and dark mask. After hearing the sound of gunshots and a broken window, Daniela fled the villa and sought help from the residents.

Police suspect that there were two perpetrators involved in the incident. Based on the witnesses' statements, the perpetrators were men wearing orange or green jackets, helmets, and masks. They fled on a scooter.

Both attackers were suspected to be Australian nationals, based on their accent heard during the shooting. 

"We are still collecting evidence and pursuing the attackers," said Ariasandy. Zivan's body has been taken to Sanglah General Hospital for an autopsy.

The Bali Police is working with the Badung Regional Police and Mengwi Police in investigating this case. The motive of the attack remains unknown, as the investigation into the shooting is underway.
