TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Directorate of General Crime Investigation at the East Java Regional Police has named former State-Owned Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan as a suspect in an alleged case of document forgery and embezzlement.
The decision to name Dahlan a suspect was based on a report filed by Jawa Pos on September 13, 2024.
"Mr. Dahlan Iskan's status has been elevated from a witness to a suspect," stated an official document signed by Chief Superintendent Arief Vidy, Head of Sub-Directorate I at the Directorate of General Crime Investigation of the East Java Regional Police, on Monday, July 7, 2025.
In addition to Dahlan, the East Java Police also named former Jawa Pos Director Nany Wijaya as a suspect. Investigators plan to summon both individuals for further questioning and will seize several items of evidence connected to the case.
Dahlan is suspected of violating Article 263 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 374, in conjunction with Article 372 and Article 55 of the Criminal Code, relating to document forgery and/or embezzlement in office, as well as possible money laundering.
Before this, the Directorate issued an Investigation Order Letter (Number SP.Sidik/42/I/RES/1/9/2025/Ditreskrimum) on January 10, 2025, to begin the formal investigation.
Tempo has reached out to Chief Commissioner Julest Abraham Abast, Head of Public Relations at the East Java Regional Police, to confirm details regarding the suspect designation of Dahlan Iskan.
However, as of the time this article was published, there has been no response from Abraham. Dahlan has also not responded to Tempo’s request for comment.
