TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG concert was officially held on March 21, 2026, at Gwanghwamun Square. This event marked the first full appearance of K-pop supergroup BTS after nearly four years of hiatus due to military duties.

Members RM, Jin, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, returned as 7 on a stage erected at the heart of Seoul to commemorate the release of their latest full album titled ARIRANG.

Hundreds of Thousand of Fans Flock to the City Center

This concert drew significant attention with an estimated number of visitors reaching up to 260,000 people in the area surrounding the venue.

Although only about 22,000 free tickets were available for the main area, fans still crowded the downtown area to watch the concert on the big screens provided.

The large number of attendees filled the atmosphere in downtown Seoul with fans even before the event started.

Seoul Implements Road Closures and Access Restrictions

To support the smooth running of the concert, the Seoul government closed several roads in the city center.

This measure included vehicle access restrictions and traffic diversions around the event location. Adjustments were made to anticipate crowd surges and to maintain controlled mobility during the concert.

Tight Security with Thousands of Personnel

Security was the main focus of this concert. More than 8,000 combined personnel were deployed to oversee the concert area and manage the movement of the crowd.

In addition, various additional measures were also implemented, such as the installation of metal detectors, area barriers, and monitoring of drone activities around the location.

These measures were taken to ensure the safety of the large-scale event in open public spaces.

Public Facilities Prepared for Visitors

The Seoul government also prepared various support facilities for visitors, including over 2,500 public toilets and medical posts around the venue.

In addition, emergency services and guidance for international tourists were provided to enhance comfort during the event.

Global Broadcast to 190 Countries

This BTS comeback concert could be watched not only live at the venue, but also broadcast to more than 190 countries through the global streaming platform Netflix.

This broadcast was one of the largest global live productions, marking the expansion of K-pop concerts to international audiences in real time.

ARIRANG Album Records High Sales

Alongside the concert held on Saturday (March 21, 2026), the newly released ARIRANG album recorded sales of nearly 4 million copies on the first day.

This album, inspired by traditional Korean songs, became part of the cultural identity showcased in the concept of the concert in Gwanghwamun.

Opening the BTS 2026-2027 World Tour

This concert in Seoul also marked the beginning of the BTS world tour scheduled to take place in various global cities.

The tour is planned to include dozens of concerts in Asia, Europe, and America, on a larger scale than the previous tour. Kicking off in South Korea in April 2026, the tour will run for 11 months through March 2027, covering 79 stadium shows across 34 cities on five continents.
