
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia and Serbia reaffirmed their commitment to promote economic, trade, and investment cooperation to enhance people's welfare in both countries.
Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono and Serbian Ambassador to Indonesia Ivana Golubovi-Duboka agreed on such commitments during their meeting at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as quoted from the official statement of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jakarta on Monday, May 19, 2025.
Minister Sugiono extended his congratulations to Ivana, who presented her credentials to President Prabowo Subianto on May 6, marking her official assignment in Indonesia.
In addition to economic cooperation, Sugiono and Ivana expressed appreciation for the strong and longstanding political relations between Indonesia and Serbia, including through the Non-Aligned Movement, as well as within the framework of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
In the context of social and cultural cooperation, the ministry noted Indonesia and the Balkan state's interfaith forum: the Indonesia-Serbia Bilateral Interfaith Dialogue (ISBID).
The 5th ISBID was last held in Belgrade, Serbia, in November 2024. Both countries agreed to continue this dialogue.
