Jasa Marga Records 133,000 Vehicles Entering Jakarta After Eid

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Jasa Marga Transjawa Tol (JTT) recorded 133,091 vehicles passing through the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate heading towards Jakarta during the period from the day before to the day after Eid al-Fitr, March 21 to 23, 2026).

This traffic volume increased significantly by 49.15 percent compared to the normal traffic of 89,231 vehicles.

"Meanwhile, based on daily traffic data on March 23, 2026, 75,837 vehicles were recorded from the eastern Trans Java region, a 197.66 percent increase from the normal traffic of 25,478 vehicles," said Ria Marlinda Paallo, Corporate Secretary & Legal of Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Ria explained that the high traffic volume indicates that the return flow is still ongoing and is expected to continue to increase.

"In line with these conditions, the JTT (Java Traffic Management Agency) and the police have implemented a one-way national traffic system from kilometer 414 of the Kalikangkung Toll Gate on the Batang-Semarang Toll Road to kilometer 70 of the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, followed by a local one-way system from kilometer 459 of the Semarang-Solo Toll Road to kilometer 414 of the Kalikangkung Toll Gate to maintain smooth traffic flow and minimize potential congestion along the Trans Java Toll Road," explained Ria.

To anticipate increased traffic volume during the return flow, the JTT is also providing alternative travel options through toll rate discounts.

A 30 percent discount applies to onward travel from the Kalikangkung Toll Gate on the Batang-Semarang Toll Road to the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road from 12:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB) March 26, 2026, to 24:00 a.m. WIB.

In addition, a 23 percent discount applies to all transactions. The policy on the Batang-Semarang Toll Road remains in effect from March 12 to 31, 2026. This policy is expected to help distribute traffic more evenly while providing benefits to road users.

Meanwhile, vehicles heading to the eastern Trans Java route via the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate were recorded at 164,271 vehicles, a 93.27 percent increase compared to normal traffic of 84,997 vehicles.

The increase in traffic volume also occurred on several toll roads managed by the JTT Group in Central and East Java.

In Central Java, 101,774 vehicles left Semarang via the Kalikangkung Toll Gate, a 112.03 percent increase compared to normal conditions. Meanwhile, vehicles heading to Semarang reached 99,866 vehicles, a 116.23 percent increase.

At the Banyumanik Toll Gate, traffic heading to Jakarta was recorded at 117,451 vehicles, a 91.96 percent increase. Meanwhile, the Solo toll road reached 138,312 vehicles, a 94.84 percent increase compared to normal conditions.

In East Java, 105,746 vehicles were registered heading to Jakarta via the Warugunung Toll Gate, an 85.13 percent increase, while the Surabaya toll road reached 105,950 vehicles, a 68.79 percent increase.

At the Kejapanan Utama Toll Gate, 115,654 vehicles were heading to Surabaya (a 44.90 percent increase) and 117,832 vehicles were heading to Malang (a 57.93 percent increase).

Meanwhile, at the Singosari Toll Gate, 65,274 vehicles were registered heading to Surabaya (a 51.65 percent increase), while the Malang toll road reached 61,873 vehicles (a 43.84 percent increase).

JTT urges Trans Java toll road users to prioritize safety, plan their trips well, ensure their vehicles and drivers are in prime condition, and ensure sufficient fuel and electronic money balances. (e-toll) before traveling.
