TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's Presidential Palace said it has received an invitation to the inaugural meeting of the Trump-initiated Board of Peace, scheduled for February 19, 2026.
State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi confirmed the invitation, but could not yet confirm whether President Prabowo Subianto would attend. "We will announce once it's certain," said Prasetyo at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday, February 9, 2026.
If Prabowo decides to leave for the United States, the minister hopes the head of state could also sign the tariff deal with Donald Trump. "We want both to happen," said the Gerindra Party politician.
Indonesia officially joined the Board of Peace on Thursday, January 22, 2026, signing the group's charter during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
The White House is planning to host the first leaders' meeting of the Board of Peace on February 19, 2026, at the Institute of Peace in Washington.
The meeting aims to push for the second phase of the ceasefire in Gaza and raise funds for the post-war reconstruction of the Palestinian enclave.
"It will be the first Board of Peace meeting and a fundraising conference for Gaza reconstruction," Axios quoted a U.S. official on Friday, as reported by Anadolu.
On the other hand, Indonesia has concluded its trade talks with the U.S., as confirmed by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto. "All negotiations have been completed, the legal drafting is at 90%. We are just waiting for the signing schedule," said Airlangga at the Shangri-La Hotel in Jakarta on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.
