17 Jakarta-Mideast Flights Canceled Due to Airspace Closure; Here's the List

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A total of 17 flights from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Cengkareng to the Middle East were canceled on Sunday, March 1, 2026. This follows the closure of airspace in several Middle Eastern countries after attacks on Iran by the United States and Israel.

"As of the latest update, 17 flights have been confirmed as canceled," said Aziz Fahmi Harahap, Acting Assistant Deputy of Communication and Legal at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, on Sunday, March 1, 2026.

Fahmi stated that, based on route permits issued by relevant authorities and updates as of 10:00 a.m. Jakarta time, a total of 39 scheduled flights to the Middle East were recorded today, consisting of 20 arrivals and 19 departures. "This comprises 38 regular flights and one charter flight," Fahmi noted.

The detailed routes include three flights to Abu Dhabi (AUH), eight to Doha (DOH), four to Dubai (DXB), two to Istanbul (IST), 17 to Jeddah (JED), and three to Madinah (MED).

The 17 canceled flight routes are as follows:

Abu Dhabi (AUH) Routes:

Doha (DOH) Routes:

Dubai (DXB) Routes:
Emirates EK356 (Arrival) - Canceled

Jeddah (JED) Routes:
Saudia Airlines SV822 (Arrival) - Canceled
Saudia Airlines SV823 (Departure) - Canceled

Madinah (MED) Routes:
Saudia Airlines SV820 (Arrival) - Canceled
Saudia Airlines SV821 (Departure) - Canceled

According to Fahmi, one flight has departed, namely Saudia Airlines SV827 to Jeddah, while three flights have landed: Lion Air JT115 from Jeddah, Saudia Airlines SV816 from Jeddah, and Garuda Indonesia GA969 from Madinah.

Fahmi ensured that, in general, operations at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport continue to run safely and orderly. "The schedule adjustments made are a follow-up to the evolving operational situation on Middle East routes," he said.

The handling of affected passengers, he went on, is being carried out in accordance with applicable regulations. This involves intensive coordination with several relevant agencies, particularly with airlines for schedule updates and the management of prospective passengers already at the airport, with AirNav Indonesia to monitor affected airspace conditions, and with security authorities to anticipate and ensure the airport’s security situation remains guarded.

"We urge prospective passengers to always monitor the latest information through the official channels of their respective airlines and to verify their flight status before heading to the airport. Additionally, information can be obtained through the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Contact Center at 172 for the latest updates," said Fahmi.
