Judha Nugraha, Director of Indonesian Citizens' Protection at the Foreign Ministry, stated that the 24 individuals are part of the 97 people successfully evacuated by the ministry. As of Thursday, June 26, 2025, a total of 73 individuals had been evacuated, consisting of 72 Indonesians and one Iranian national.
"A total of 24 remaining evacuees, out of the total of 97 evacuees who are still in Baku, Azerbaijan, will be repatriated gradually on the dates of June 27, 28, and 29, 2025," Judha said in an official statement on Friday, June 27, 2025.
He added that six people are set to return via the Baku-Doha-Bangkok-Jakarta route and are expected to arrive on Saturday, June 28. Another five Indonesian citizens are scheduled to arrive on Sunday, June 29, followed by 13 more on Monday, June 30, via the Baku-Doha-Jakarta route.
This repatriation is part of the first phase of the evacuation effort carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in response to the worsening Iran-Israel conflict.
Judha assured that the Indonesian government is actively cooperating with various countries involved in the repatriation process.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is coordinating closely with the Indonesian Representatives in transit countries to ensure the smoothness and safety of this evacuation process," he said.
