TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian men's volleyball national team became champions of the SEA V League 2025 second leg after defeating Thailand with a score of 3-2 (27-29, 25-15, 25-23, 22-25, 15-13) in the final match at the Jakarta International Velodrom Stadium, Sunday night, July 20, 2025.
The decisive match of this second leg was intense in the first set. There was a back and forth until it reached 10-10, and the duel heated up as it approached the critical score with a deuce at 24-24 before Thailand eventually won this set with 29-27.
In the second set, Rivan Nurmulki and his teammates gained three consecutive points at the beginning. The lead was maintained until the Red and White team led 16-8 and eventually won this set with 25-15.
Next, the team coached by Jeff Jiang Jie won the third set, which was also closely contested, with a score of 25-23. This result turned the temporary score in favor of Indonesia at 2-1.
When chasing for the victory in the fourth set to end the match, Indonesia lost. Thailand was able to win this set with a score of 25-22. Amorntep Konhan managed to score two consecutive service aces.
After the score tied at 2-2, the match proceeded to the fifth set. In the decisive set, the match was intense. The points were close until 4-4. However, after that, Indonesia started to pull away with a lead of 6-4 and then widened to 8-4. At this crucial moment, Thailand briefly rose to narrow the gap to 11-9 before the home team eventually won with 15-13.
As a result, the Indonesian men's volleyball national team became champions of the SEA V League 2025 second leg with 10 points. Vietnam took the second position with eight points. Thailand occupied the third position with seven points. The fourth and fifth positions were held by the Philippines with five points and Cambodia, who failed to score any points.
