Prabowo Demands Efficiency and Anti-Corruption Efforts from SOE Officials

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto reminded all officials, including state-owned enterprise (SOE) officials, to work efficiently. This commitment is important for providing services with good, transparent management.

"Clean management, give the best for the people of Indonesia. Provide the best possible resource management, as efficiently as possible," he said in the inauguration of the operation and management of renewable energy in 15 provinces, observed via Zoom on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel on Thursday, June 26, 2025.

The head of state said that Indonesia must combat corruption and stop all financial leaks. He believed that this stance would lead to economic growth.

"We must continue to combat corruption, manipulation, wasteful work, and stop all leaks. In this way, our economy will improve," he said.

Prabowo emphasized that economic growth can make people prosperous. Indonesia will also become a modern and advanced country. "A prosperous country, where all its people enjoy prosperity," he said.

On that occasion, Prabowo also believes that Indonesia's food resilience is growing stronger. Currently, Indonesian rice and corn reserves have reached their highest level in history.

The Chairperson of the Gerindra Party stated that food production reached its highest level in the first half of 2025. He believed that Indonesia would become the world's food barn.

"I have said my belief that Indonesia will not only achieve food self-sufficiency but also become the world's food barn," said Prabowo.

According to Prabowo, food self-sufficiency is key to facing global uncertainties. In addition, Prabowo aims to achieve energy security. Indonesia's energy resources are very large, so the government will manage them for the people's prosperity.

President Prabowo was previously scheduled to attend the inauguration of the Operation and Development of Renewable Energy in 15 Provinces and the Increase in Production of 30 barrels in the Banyu Urip Field. The inauguration event was symbolically centered at the Blawan Ijen Unit 1 Ijen Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) in Bondowoso, East Java, on Thursday, June 26, 2026.

However, Prabowo did not attend in person. He said the weather was not conducive, so he did not attend. Thus, Prabowo only participated in the inauguration via Zoom.
