The development plan of the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) in Bali is confirmed to continue. The Bali government has inked a collaboration deal with the Jakarta government for assistance and development.
"The collaboration is between the management of MRT Jakarta and SBDJ," said Dodi Miharjana, the president director of PT Sarana Bali Dwipa Jaya (SBDJ), on Saturday, June 14, 2025.
Sarana Bali Dwipa Jaya is a company established by the Bali Provincial Government to oversee the construction of the MRT, including partnering with investors who will finance this project.
2. Australian Man Shot Dead at Bali Villa, Another Wounded
Two Australian nationals became victims of a shooting at Villa Casa Santisya 1, Banjar Sedahan, Munggu Village, Mengwi District, Badung Regency, Bali, early Saturday, June 14, 2025.
Zivan Radmanovic, 32 years old, died on the spot, while Sanar Ghanim, 35, sustained severe injuries and is currently in intensive care at BIMC Hospital Kuta.
The Bali Police said the incident occurred at around 00:20 a.m. local time. "Witness GJ, Zivan's wife, heard her husband shouting upon seeing a stranger enter the room," said the head of public relations at Bali Police, Grand Commissioner Ariasandy, in a written statement on Saturday, June 14, 2025.
3. UN Condemns Israeli Attack on Iranian Nuclear Site
The United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has condemned Israel's attack on Iran in the early hours of Friday and called for maximum restraint from member countries. He said any military escalation in the Middle East must be condemned.
"He is particularly concerned about Israel's attack on Iran's nuclear installations while discussions between Iran and the United States on the status of Iran's nuclear program are ongoing," said Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesperson for the Secretary-General.
Antonio also, said Farhan, reminded the UN member states of their obligation to act in accordance with the UN Charter and international law. He also urged both parties to show maximum restraint, avoiding any means to prevent further conflict, a situation that the region can hardly bear.
