Xiaomi Gearing up for AI Glasses Debut to Rival Ray-Ban Meta

9 hours ago 4

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Xiaomi introduced its latest smart glasses, the Xiaomi AI Glasses, at a major event in China on June 26, 2025.

The device offers 2K (1440p) video recording at 30fps, is fully voice-controlled without a display, and is equipped with an integrated touch control area on the right side of the frame. Users can also pair prescription lenses or optional electrochromic lenses.

Weighing only 40 grams, the glasses are equipped with a 12MP camera sensor (Sony IMX681) to record first-person perspective videos, live broadcasts, and taking photos. It features five microphones with bone-conduction technology and wind-noise reduction, as well as two speakers for media playback.

As quoted in the GSM Arena report, the device is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon AR1 chipset and Vela OS internal operating system. What's also interesting is that the device's 263 mAh battery has a lifespan of up to 8 hours and 36 minutes—twice as long as its competitor, Ray-Ban Meta. The glasses also have a USB-C port for direct charging without the need for a special case.

The Xiaomi AI Glasses are available in black, brown, and green and are sold in China for 1,999 yuan, or approximately Rp4.52 million based on today's exchange rate. There is no information yet on whether this device will be marketed globally.

Additionally, Xiaomi also introduced the OpenWear Stereo Pro, wireless open-ear earphones with a skin-friendly liquid silicone body and large 1813mm drivers tuned by the Harman Golden Ear team. The device supports AI-based audio recording and transcription, with a battery life of up to 45 hours via the charging case. It is priced at 999 yuan, or approximately Rp2.26 million.
