TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto stated that the proposed site for the Indonesian International Financial Center (PFII) in Bali is still under evaluation. "It is still in the evaluation stage," Airlangga said when met at his office in Jakarta on Thursday.

Asked about the exact location on the island, amid speculation surrounding sites such as North Bali, Kura-Kura, and Sanur, Airlangga offered few details, noting only that it involves "land owned by Danantara."

"No, the location is one of the sites owned by Danantara," he said briefly.

Airlangga has yet to elaborate on the technical Government Regulation (PP) for the PFII, which had been targeted for completion by August 16, 2026, following the enactment of the PFII Law. "We’ll see later. I haven't looked into it further yet," he said.

President Prabowo Subianto previously announced plans for the Indonesian International Financial Center (PFII) to be developed in both Jakarta and Bali.

He noted that Jakarta would serve as the hub's initial footprint. The government is also preparing Bali as the next development site, while leaving open the possibility of launching similar zones in other regions capable of attracting substantial foreign capital.

According to him, the PFII will represent a new face for Indonesia's financial sector, focusing on areas such as investment, financial technology, arbitration, and commercial dispute resolution that meet international standards.

Activities slated for development within the PFII encompass diverse financial sectors, including banking, insurance, capital markets, derivatives, carbon trading, bullion, fintech, Islamic finance, family offices, treasury hubs, and asset management. To bolster its appeal to global investors, the government is also preparing a suite of incentives, including capital and profit repatriation guarantees, targeted tax relief, golden visas, competitive licensing services, and rigorous compliance standards.
