TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Australian Government officially opened applications for the Australia Awards Scholarships on February 1, 2026, inviting Indonesian citizens to pursue Master's (S2) and Doctoral (S3) studies at various Australian universities. This scholarship is designed for Indonesia's future leaders who possess the potential to serve as agents of change and contribute to the nation's sustainable development.
As a prestigious international program operating since 1953, this scholarship remains a vital instrument in strengthening the bilateral relationship between Indonesia and Australia. Through advanced education, research, and international networking, recipients are expected to enhance their leadership capacity and forge enduring cross-border connections.
For this year's selection, the Australia Awards Scholarships prioritize Indonesian applicants pursuing strategic fields, particularly those supporting equitable and sustainable economic transformation, climate change resilience, and institutional strengthening.
In addition to full tuition coverage, the scholarship provides comprehensive support facilities, including English language training, academic preparation, and professional development opportunities. According to the official Australia Awards Scholarships website, these resources are intended to equip recipients for academic challenges before, during, and after their studies in Australia.
The selection process evaluates professionalism, soft skills, academic competence, and the applicant's potential contribution toward addressing Indonesia's development challenges upon their return.
The Australia Awards Scholarships actively promote gender equality and offer opportunities to applicants from diverse backgrounds. Furthermore, specialized support is available for "Equity Target Groups," including persons with disabilities, disadvantaged women, and applicants from equity target provinces, as part of a broader effort to expand access to higher education.
Registration for the Australia Awards Scholarships closes on April 30, 2026, at 11:00 Jakarta time and is conducted via an online application form. Applicants must ensure that all supporting documentation is uploaded in strict accordance with the specified requirements.
