Iran Vows to Unveil Secret Documents on Israeli Nuclear Facilities

20 hours ago 5

TEMPO.CO, JakartaIranian Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib has announced that the Iranian government will soon disclose sensitive documents purportedly related to Israel's nuclear facilities, defense systems, and its diplomatic engagements with the United States, Europe, and various other nations.

On Sunday, June 8, 2025, Khatib informed state television that the documents acquired by Tehran constitute a "treasure trove" capable of bolstering the country's offensive posture. However, he did not present any direct evidence to substantiate his claims at the time of the announcement.

As reported by Al Jazeera, the Israeli government has never disclosed details about its nuclear arsenal. Israel, widely believed to possess a substantial nuclear capability, is reportedly the only country in the Middle East with nuclear bombs.

Prior to this announcement, an Israeli citizen was arrested for allegedly spying on Tehran amid its conflict in Gaza. It remains unclear whether the newly acquired materials are related to the reported hacking of Israel's nuclear research center last year.

"The transfer of this treasure trove was time-consuming and required security measures. Naturally, the transfer methods will remain confidential but the documents should be unveiled soon," said Khatib.

He also alluded to the sheer volume of the documents but refrained from providing specific details. "Talking of thousands of documents would be an understatement," he said.

"The sheer volume of the materials and the need to securely transfer the entire shipment into the country necessitated a period of media silence," Iranian state broadcaster IRIB reported, citing sources. It added that the documents have reached a "secure location."

This latest development is part of a broader campaign of covert operations that Iran and Israel have been waging against each other for years. Tehran accuses Israel of assassinating its nuclear scientists, while Israel, conversely, blames Iran for supporting armed groups across the region that oppose its interests.

Iran and Israel exchanged attacks in April 2024 after Iran retaliated against Israel's bombing of its embassy in Damascus, Syria, but a wider war was ultimately averted.

The U.S. recently urged Israel to halt any plans to attack Iranian nuclear sites, as negotiations between Washington and Tehran are ongoing.
