TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Iranian Embassy in Jakarta responded to Israeli strikes on Tehran and several other cities across Iran. The Iranian Embassy vows retaliation against Israel.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran will respond appropriately to this barbaric act," said the Iranian Embassy in an official statement on Friday, June 13, 2025.
The Iranian Embassy invoked Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, stating that the country has the right to self-defense.
"The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will respond with full force at a time and manner deemed appropriate to defend the nation’s honor and sovereignty," wrote the Iranian Embassy.
The Iranian Embassy condemned the attack as a "clear violation" of Article 2 (4) of the UN Charter, and a blatant act of aggression against Iran.
Iran calls on all UN member states, especially those in the region, Islamic countries, Non-Aligned Movement members, and all countries concerned with international peace and security, to promptly condemn Israel's aggression. Iran requests that the world's nations take joint steps to confront these actions.
For Iran, Israel has undoubtedly exposed global peace and security to an unprecedented threat.
"All dangerous consequences of this wide-ranging aggression by the Zionist regime against our homeland lie squarely with the regime and its supporters," said the Iranian Embassy.
The Iranian Embassy also calls on all organizations, media, and social media activists to report responsibly. The Iranian Embassy argues that all parties should raise global public awareness of the crimes and the impact of Israel's military actions.
The Iranian Embassy believes that the Israeli regime has violated the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran. They condemn Israel's attacks on various locations, including residential areas in Tehran and several other cities.
The Iranian Embassy also extends condolences to all Iranian people who perished in the face of Israel's attack.
Israel has carried out several attacks targeting Iran's nuclear facilities and military locations in and around the country's capital, Tehran. In a video message uploaded on Friday morning, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the attack aimed to damage Iran's nuclear infrastructure and ballistic missile factories.
"This operation will continue for as long as it is necessary until we complete our mission to counter the existential threat hanging over our heads," said Netanyahu, as quoted from Al Jazeera.
