On Sunday, June 29, 2025, a Malaysian tourist was swept away by the sea current in the waters of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). In West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), a Malaysian tourist slipped during a climb on Mount Rinjani on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

Swept Away by the Sea Current

A Malaysian tourist was swept away by the sea current in Gili Lawa, Komodo National Park, Manggarai Barat, NTT, on Sunday, June 29, 2025. "The victim's name is Amirah Bazil (35)," said the Head of the Maumere SAR Office, Fathur Rahman, contacted from Labuan Bajo on Sunday, June 29, 2025.

As quoted from Antara, on Sunday, June 29, 2025, Fathur Rahman explained that around 06:45 WITA (Indonesia Central Time), the victim was swept away by the sea current while diving with other tourists in the waters of Gili Lawa. The incident was reported to the SAR Post of West Manggarai Regency. "The victim got separated and went missing, so the incident was reported to the SAR Post of West Manggarai Regency for search efforts," he said.

The SAR team that immediately headed to the location found the victim in good health and was safely rescued by the crew of the Fenidea speedboat.

Slipped on Mount Rinjani

A Malaysian climber, Nazril (47), slipped during a climb in Mount Rinjani, Lombok, NTB, on Saturday, June 28, 205. This incident occurred as he was heading to Danau Segara Anak. He suffered minor injuries. "The victim slipped while on the way to Danau Segara Anak at Mount Rinjani after the climb," said the spokesman for the East Lombok Police, First Brigadier Nicolas Oesman in East Lombok, on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

The victim departed with 12 other climbers through the Kandang Sapi Bawak Nao Desa Sajang climbing route on Thursday, June 26, 2025. After the climb, he planned to visit Danau Segara Anak. During the journey, he slipped while avoiding porters crossing the route. "The victim slipped while trying to avoid the large number of porters crossing the route," said Nicolas.
