Coordinating Minister for Food Security Zulkifli Hasan announced that the Indonesian government will provide food assistance in the form of 10,000 tons of rice to Palestine. Zulkifli said the Indonesian National Armed Forces will carry out the aid shipment.
"Hopefully, the Indonesian National Armed Forces will be able to sail to Jordan or Palestine this month," Zulhas said after a limited coordination meeting at the Ministry of Food Security office in Central Jakarta on Thursday, June 12, 2025.
The Head of the National Food Authority (Bapanas), Arief Prasetyo Adi, stated that the preparation for the shipment is targeted to be completed within the next three weeks. The budget for this aid is sourced from Indonesian Aid under the Ministry of Finance.
2. Air India's Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner Touted as Fuel-Efficient Aircraft
The Air India plane that crashed on June 12, 2025, was equipped with state-of-the-art technology and was claimed to be the safest. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crashed shortly after takeoff and hit a residential area near a medical school campus.
A total of 241 passengers died in the crash, with one survivor. The total death toll is 265, with 50 others sustaining injuries.
According to GlobalAir, the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner is a wide-body passenger jet. It has twin engines developed by Boeing Commercial Airplanes and can accommodate 242 to 335 passengers in a three-class configuration.

An Air India airplane flying to Gatwick Airport in London, UK, crashed and hit a doctors' dormitory shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad on Thursday, June 11, 2025. As reported by The Economic Times, the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner (VT-ANB) with flight number AI-171 was carrying 242 people, including two pilots and 10 cabin crew.
"Within 2–3 minutes, police and other agencies reached the spot. Almost 70–80% of the area has been cleared. All agencies are working here," said a senior police officer.
