TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemlu) reported that six Indonesian citizens (WNI) who were evacuated from Iran have arrived in Jakarta on Saturday, June 28, 2025.
"Today, on June 28, 2025, 6 WNI evacuees from Iran arrived after traveling through the Baku-Doha-Bangkok-Jakarta route," said Director of the Protection of Indonesian Citizens Abroad at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Judha Nugraha, as quoted by Antara.
Judha stated that as of June 28, 2025, the Indonesian Government had evacuated a total of 79 individuals, consisting of 78 Indonesian citizens and one Iranian national.
Meanwhile, the remaining 18 individuals, out of a total of 97 who were evacuated and are still in Baku, Azerbaijan, will be repatriated gradually on June 28 and 29, 2025.
Five more individuals are scheduled to arrive in Jakarta on June 29, 2025, via two different flights.
The number of individuals still in Baku is 13, with scheduled return flights on June 29, 2025. The individuals evacuated in the last wave are expected to arrive in Jakarta on June 30, 2025.
Kemlu closely coordinates with the Indonesian Representation in transit countries to ensure the smoothness and safety of the evacuation process, as stated by Judha.
