Bank Mandiri Appoints Henry Panjaitan as Deputy President Director; Here's His Profile

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. appointed Henry Panjaitan as Deputy President Director. Henry replaces Riduan, who was appointed President Director of Bank Mandiri on August 4, 2025.

Bank Mandiri Corporate Secretary M. Ashidiq Iswara stated that the adjustment of the management structure is part of the company's long-term strategy. "To strengthen the organizational structure, improve synergy between functions, and expedite strategic decision-making to support business transformation and contribute to strengthening the people-based economy," Ashidiq said in his official statement on Monday, August 4, 2025.

Now, what kind of person is Henry Panjaitan?

Profile of Henry Panjaitan

Referring to the 2024 Annual Report of PT Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Jamkrindo), Henry Panjaitan was born in Jakarta on July 7, 1969. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Management from the Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) in 1991.

After completing his Bachelor's degree, Henry pursued a Master's degree in Banking at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), UK, and graduated in 2002. The following year, he completed his Master's degree in Financial Management at the University of Indonesia (UI) in 2003.

Henry has a long work history in the banking sector. He was previously the Manager of the Advisory & Securities Division of the Investment & Financial Services at PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI (2003-2004).

Still at BNI, Henry also served as the Credit Analysis Manager of the Corporate Division Two Bank (2004), the Business Marketing Manager of the Corporate Division Two Bank (2004-2005), and the Relationship Manager of the Corporate Division (2006-2007). He also worked as the Manager of the Directorate Assistant Personal Division of KMP (2007-2008) and the Leader of the Trade Finance Group of the International Division (2008-2009).

In 2009, Henry was stationed at the BNI Hong Kong office as Deputy General Manager until 2010, and subsequently as General Manager from 2010 to 2015. After that, he returned to Indonesia as the Head of Business & Banking at the BNI Jakarta Senayan Region (2015-2016).

Some other positions held by Henry at BNI include the Division Leader of BIN (2016-2017), Head of the Jakarta BSD Region (2019-2020), Head of the Jakarta Senayan Region (2020), and Director of Treasury and International (2020-2022).

On October 27, 2022, Hendry was appointed as the Business Director of the Jamkrindo Guarantee. This was based on the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Decision Number SK-244/MBU/10/2022-014/Kep-Sir-PS/BPUI/X/2022 concerning the Termination, Transfer of Duties, and Appointment of Members of the Board of Directors of Jamkrindo.

Wealth of Henry Panjaitan

Referring to the electronic State Official Wealth Report (e-LHKPN) archive from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) website, Henry was found to have wealth amounting to Rp53,776,010,732. This figure is based on the 2024 reporting period as the Business Director of Jamkrindo, submitted on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

The details of Henry's wealth are as follows:

  • Land and buildings: Rp29,829,375,000.
  • Transportation and machinery: Rp4,875,000,090.
  • Other movable assets: Rp355,000,000.
  • Securities: Rp10,104,364,678.
  • Cash and cash equivalents: Rp10,612,270,964.
  • Other assets: -
  • Debts: Rp2,000,000,000.

In his LHKPN, Henry claimed ownership of four land and/or building plots derived from his own income. The property assets are located in South Jakarta, Tabanan, and Gianyar, with areas ranging from 270 to 2,050 square meters.

Henry also owns eight vehicles, all acquired from his own income. His transportation assets consist of a Jeep Wrangler car (2013) worth Rp700 million, a BMW R90T motorcycle (2019) worth Rp625 million, a Mercedes Benz E250 car (2015) worth Rp850 million, and a Mercedes Benz C250 car (2017) worth Rp650 million.

Additionally, he owns a Harley Davidson Fatboy motorcycle (2021) worth Rp750 million, a Jeep Cherokee car (1999) worth Rp300 million, a Mercedes Benz G280 car (1987) worth Rp500 million, and a Mercedes Benz G280 car (1886) worth Rp500 million.
