TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's Financial Services Authority (OJK) has blocked 66,271 accounts involved in fraudulent practices as part of efforts to eradicate illegal financial activities. Friderica Widyasari Dewi, the Executive Head of Behavioral Supervision of Financial Services, Business Players, Education, and Consumer Protection at OJK, explained that the blocking was based on complaints received through the Indonesia Anti-Scam Center (IASC).
"If we look at the reported number of accounts, there are 326,283 of them, and the number of accounts that have been immediately blocked is 66,271 accounts," said Friderica in a press conference following the OJK Board of Commissioners Meeting on Monday, August 4, 2025.
Friderica mentioned that the total financial losses reported by the victims amounted to Rp4.1 trillion, while the amount of blocked funds was Rp348.3 billion.
Since the IASC's launch occurred on November 22 of last year, OJK has received 204,011 reports related to illegal financial activities. Out of this number, 129,793 reports were submitted by victims through Financial Services Business Players (PUJK), while the remaining 74,218 were sent directly to IASC.
In the context of consumer protection enforcement, until July 24, 2025, OJK issued 86 written warnings to 72 PUJK, 13 written instructions to 13 PUJK, and 23 fine sanctions to 22 PUJK. OJK also strengthened coordination with the Illegal Financial Activities Eradication Task Force (Satgas Pasti). From January 1, 2025, until July 24, 2025, the task force received 11,137 complaints about illegal entities. Of these, 8,929 concerned illegal online loans, and 2,208 involved illegal investments.
Based on these reports, the task force shut down 1,556 illegal online loan entities and 284 illegal investment offers found on various websites and apps. The task force also requested the blocking of 2,422 contact numbers from the Ministry of Communication and Digital. "In addition, through Satgas Pasti, we also monitor reports of fraud submitted by the public to IASC," she said.
