TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Rose of K-pop supergroup BLACKPINK released her latest solo single, "New Trick," on Friday, September 18, 2026. Her agency, The Black Label, announced that the energetic garage-punk track delivers a message about overcoming adversity and moving forward with one's own resilience.
According to agency details reported by South Korean news outlet Yonhap, the single was co-produced by Amy Allen, who previously worked on Rosé's hit "APT.," and Andrew Wells, who collaborated on her earlier track "Stay a Little Longer."
In an interview with Vogue, cited by the Korea Herald, Rosé revealed that the song came together during a busy period in New York shortly after attending the Met Gala.
"Ultimately, we successfully wrote something so not sad, and I think it is possibly the cutest thing we’ve ever made together. ... Maybe ‘Apt.’ is the cutest, but y’all can judge that for me!" Rosé told Vogue.
The release coincides with a high-profile technology partnership. According to The Black Label, the official music video for "New Trick" was created in collaboration with Apple to mark the launch of the iPhone 18 Pro as part of the company's "Shot on iPhone" campaign.
The visual was directed by Dave Meyers, known for his work with pop stars including Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, and Ariana Grande, as well as directing BLACKPINK's "Jump."
Ahead of the official release, Rosé teased the project on her Instagram account with a 15-second preview featuring a purple lollipop marked with the track title and Apple's campaign logo.
