TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Tuesday expressed his country's readiness to resolve disputes with the United States based on the international framework.
The Iranian government's television reported, as cited by Anadolu, that Pezeshkian held telephone conversations with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
"We hope that negotiations between Iran and the U.S. will begin soon and lead to a positive outcome," Pezeshkian said in his conversation with bin Salman.
Iran seeks a fair and reasonable agreement within the international framework, an agreement that guarantees the rights inseparable from the Iranian people and contributes to the stability and development of the region, the president stated.
"We have no demands beyond our rightful entitlements and welcome any support from friendly and brotherly nations in resolving these matters," he added.
The report noted that Prince MBS indicated that his country has condemned Israel's actions against Iran from the beginning.
"We, nor any other country in our region, have opened our airspace for any action against Iran, and we will not do so. There will also be no operations against Iran from US bases in our countries. We also understand your obligations to respond to the U.S. attack," MBS said.
In his conversation with bin Zayed, Pezeshkian conveyed that "they can build the region together without foreign interference, in an environment of cooperation, stability, and peace."
Bin Zayed emphasized the importance of ensuring the success of the agreement in a way that benefits all countries and societies in the region, reaffirming the UAE's consistent support for initiatives that promote regional peace and security.
The Iranian President also emphasized that the enemy's conspiracy cannot damage the friendship between Iran and Pakistan, in a phone conversation with Sharif.
Israel launched an airstrike on several locations in Iran since June 13, including military and nuclear facilities, with allegations that Tehran is on the verge of producing a nuclear bomb, a claim strongly denied by Iran.
In response, Iran launched missile and drone attacks, and the United States later joined the conflict by bombing three Iranian nuclear sites on Sunday.
After 12 days of battle between these two arch-foes in the region, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire between Israel and Iran on Monday night local time and reiterated on early Tuesday to end the conflict.
