TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A total of 21 Filipino officials who were stranded in Israel have been successfully evacuated and arrived in Manila on Saturday, June 21, 2025, following the escalating Iran-Israel conflict that has claimed hundreds of lives in both countries.
The group of officials includes four dairy industry specialists from the Philippine Department of Agriculture who were in Israel for a technology training program from June 10 to 20, as reported by the Manila Times, citing Anadolu.
These officials were stranded due to the outbreak of the Israel-Iran conflict that began on June 13.
On Friday, six other Filipino nationals crossed the border into Jordan and arrived at the Philippine Embassy. The Philippines has urged its 30,000 workers in Israel and 1,200 nationals in Iran to return to their homeland.
Eight Filipino nationals were reported injured in Iran's attack on Israel, according to the ABS-CBN news outlet. The hostilities broke out when Israel launched air strikes on several locations in Iran, including military and nuclear facilities, prompting Tehran to retaliate.
Israeli authorities stated that at least 25 people have been killed and hundreds injured in Iran's missile strikes since the conflict erupted. Meanwhile, according to Iranian media reports, 639 people have been killed and over 1,300 injured in Israel's attacks on Iran.
