Barcode Helps Police Identify Bali Shooting Suspect

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The murder of an Australian national at Villa Casa Santisya 1, Munggu Village, Badung Regency, Bali, was uncovered after police traced a barcode found on a hammer. The object was discovered at the murder scene and is suspected to have been used by the perpetrator. "The team found a hammer at the villa's entrance," said the Head of Badung District Police Chief Commissioner M. Arif Batubara on Saturday, June 21, 2025.

According to Arif, the barcode revealed that the perpetrator had purchased the hammer from a store on Jalan Pererenan, Badung Regency, Bali. The person who bought the hammer was recorded by the store's CCTV camera. "From the CCTV footage, it was seen that someone bought a hammer, so we traced that person," he said.

The CCTV footage then led the police to three suspects, namely Tupou Pasa Midolmore (27), Coskunmevlut (23), and Darcy Francesco Jenson (37). All three are Australian citizens.

They were charged with multiple offenses, including Article 340 of the Criminal Code on premeditated murder, Article 338 of the Criminal Code on murder, Article 351 paragraph (3), and Emergency Law No. 12 of 1951. In addition, they were also charged with Article 372 of the Criminal Code on Embezzlement.

The murder at Villa Casa Santisya 1 occurred in the early hours of Saturday, June 14, 2025. The victims were two Australian nationals who were shot while resting with their family. One victim, Zivan Radmanovic, was shot in the bathroom and died, while the other victim, Sanar Ghanim, was shot in the bedroom and survived.
