TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) officially introduced stock Liquidity Provider quotations on Monday, April 20, 2026, as part of efforts to improve market liquidity and price formation.
Irvan Susandy, the exchange’s Director of Trading and Regulation, said the active participation of exchange members as Liquidity Providers is key to enhancing trading efficiency and ensuring more reliable price discovery.
A stock Liquidity Provider refers to an exchange member authorized by the stock exchange to continuously place buy and sell quotes for selected shares listed under the Liquidity Provider program, with the aim of boosting trading activity in those stocks.
In the initial phase, Phintraco Sekuritas became the first participant to carry out quotations, placing both bid and offer orders for five stocks: Gudang Garam Tbk (GGRM), Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia Tbk (TKIM), Trans Power Marine Tbk (TPMA), Asuransi Tugu Pratama Indonesia Tbk (TUGU), and Wintermar Offshore Marine Tbk (WINS).
According to Irvan, Liquidity Providers play a crucial role in improving trading quality by narrowing bid-ask spreads, increasing market depth, and making transactions smoother for investors.
“We hope this initiative will help boost liquidity, particularly for stocks with strong growth potential,” he said in a statement.
The exchange noted that broader participation from its members will be critical to the program’s success. IDX is therefore encouraging more market participants to join, so the initiative can deliver optimal results.
Irvan added that the successful rollout of the first quotation is expected to serve as a catalyst for wider adoption among exchange members, helping to create a more liquid, credible, and competitive trading ecosystem.
“This is part of our effort to strengthen market structure and enhance the appeal of Indonesia’s capital market at both regional and global levels,” he said.
