BMKG Forecasts Cloudy Weather Across Indonesia Today

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecasts that weather conditions across Indonesia on Sunday, September 20, 2026, will be predominantly cloudy, partly cloudy, and heavily cloudy.

BMKG forecaster Nadiah stated in Jakarta on Sunday that heavy cloud cover is expected in Banda Aceh, Pangkal Pinang, parts of Java, and Samarinda, while cloudy conditions are anticipated in Serang and Yogyakarta.

"Conditions ranging from partly cloudy to cloudy and heavily cloudy are expected in Denpasar, Mataram, Makassar, Kendari, Gorontalo, Manado, Ambon, Sorong, Jayapura, and Merauke," she said.

There is a potential for thunderstorms in Padang and Bandar Lampung.

Moderate rain is also forecast for Bandung and Tanjung Selor, with light rain expected in parts of Sumatra and Pontianak.

Regarding eastern Indonesia, Nadiah noted the need to be alert for potential moderate rain in Palu and light rain in Kupang, Mamuju, and Jayawijaya.

She also mentioned the potential for hazy conditions in Ternate, Manokwari, Nabire, Palembang, and Banjarmasin.

Additionally, haze is expected in Palangkaraya, along with hazy conditions in Ternate, Manokwari, and Nabire.
