Norway Beat Ivory Coast to Reach World Cup Last 16

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Norwegian national team advanced to the round of 16 after defeating Ivory Coast 2-1 in the round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup at AT&T Stadium in Arlington on Tuesday local time.

Norway secured the victory thanks to goals from Antonio Nusa and Erling Haaland, while Ivory Coast equalized through Amad Diallo, according to FIFA records.

Next, in the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup, Norway will face Brazil at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Monday, July 6, at 3:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time.

Ivory Coast created the first chance through a shot from Nicolas Pepe, but the Norwegian defense was able to block it.

Norway took the lead in the 39th minute after Antonio Nusa's individual effort ended with a goal, making it 1-0.

Stale Solbakken's squad had a chance to double their lead through a shot from Erling Haaland, but the ball went wide.

Ivory Coast responded and had a chance through Emmanuel Agbadou's header, but his effort went wide of the Norwegian goal.

Entering the second half, Ivory Coast pressed again and created a chance through Pepe, but this time it was saved by Norwegian goalkeeper Orjan Nyland.

Ivory Coast finally managed to equalize in the 74th minute after Amad Diallo's individual effort was converted into a goal, leveling the score at 1-1.

In the final minutes of the match, Norway regained the lead after a Patrick Berg pass was converted by Erling Haaland, making it 2-1 in the 86th minute.

After falling behind again, Ivory Coast tried to equalize, but the score remained 2-1 in favor of Norway.
