
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A total of 2,319 houses were damaged due to the earthquake in Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi. "Based on data from the Disaster Management Operations Control Center (Pusdalops PB), there are 2,319 damaged houses, consisting of 1,966 lightly damaged houses, 219 moderately damaged, and 134 heavily damaged," said the Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Sigi, Henri Kusuma, in Sigi on Friday, June 19, 2026.
He stated that the total number of casualties and affected individuals has increased, with 8,586 people and 2,762 families impacted by the earthquake in Sigi Regency.
"Specifically, there are 17 seriously injured individuals, 108 with minor injuries, and three fatalities," he added.
He mentioned that the affected areas due to the earthquake disaster are spread across 42 villages in nine districts, namely Sigi Kota, Palolo, Nokilalaki, Tanambulava, Lindu, Dolo, Sigi Biromaru, Dolo Selatan, and Gumbasa.
"The villages most severely affected include Uneni, Tongoa, Kamarora A, Kamarora B, and Sintuwu," he noted.
He also mentioned that various public facilities in Sigi Regency were damaged as a result of the earthquake. These facilities included government offices, 16 mosques, 63 churches, 37 schools, and five community health centers.
"We continue to update this data daily and report it to the Sigi Regency Government," he added.
The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that a tectonic earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 struck the areas of Sigi, Parimo, Donggala, and Palu City in Central Sulawesi on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 10:27 AM local time.
